The Technology behind the Transparent Media Facade
With its lamella-structured transparent media facade, ag4 has designed a highly transparent facade medialization that functions also in daylight. The system is based on a frame construction: vertically fitted lamellas with set light diodes (LEDs) are held by profiles that are attached to a frame hanging in front of the facade. This frame is statically attached to the building structure. The electronic modules required to operate the system are placed in a water-protected channel attached behind the profiles.
Groups of 5 LEDs each are set into the vertically mounted lamellas at 6cm apart, each group creating a pixel. The lamellas are mounted onto the fitting profile on the facade at a horizontal distance of 7cm. This generates a resolution of 45,000 pixels in total that guarantees a good picture quality.
